Chapter 1: Love at First Sight : Sometimes, life has a way of surprising us. But, as I would come to know, sometimes we’re meant to wait, to grow, and to trust that whatever happens is part of a bigger plan.

I was sixteen when I first saw him. The day was nothing extraordinary — just another summer afternoon at my best friend Ananya’s house. But the moment he walked in, the air seemed to shift. There he was, Aman, her elder brother, five years older than me, tall, smart, and effortlessly handsome. His sharp jawline, piercing eyes, and casual confidence left me utterly awestruck. Before that moment, I had never imagined such a powerful connection. He was everything I wasn’t. Where he was charismatic and striking, I was plain, awkward, and shy, still figuring out how to exist in my own skin. But that didn’t stop my heart from racing every time he glanced my way.

He offered a polite smile and a nod as Ananya introduced me. I managed to mumble a barely audible “Hi.” From that moment on, I was hooked. Every small interaction felt monumental. He often dropped us off in his car, and I’d steal glances at him, feeling like a thief caught in the act. I lived for those fleeting moments, imagining that maybe, just maybe, he noticed me too. Every love song suddenly made sense, as if they were written for us. But deep down, I knew it was a one-sided dream.
