Divine Plans and Unfinished Love: Chapter 4

Chapter 4: The Goodbye : And then, just like that, he was gone. Aman got a job in another city, and the days that followed were a blur of packing, goodbyes, and an unbearable silence that settled over everything he left behind. His absence wasn’t just felt—it was carved into every corner of my world.
Ananya, his sister and my best friend, tried to put on a brave face. She joked about visiting him soon, filling her sentences with forced laughter, but I knew she was hurting too. For me, though, the pain was different. It wasn’t just the loss of a friend—it was the unspoken, unshared love I had harbored for Aman. I couldn’t tell Ananya; I couldn’t tell anyone. How do you confess a love so deep yet so silent that it never even touched the surface of reality? I hadn’t told him how I felt, and now he was gone, taking with him a piece of me I could never reclaim. The weeks that followed were hollow. My exams loomed ahead, demanding my attention, but no amount of studying could fill the void Aman left behind. I would sit with my books, forcing myself to focus, but my mind always wandered back to him—his laughter, his gentle teasing, the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled.
A Love That Wouldn’t Fade Time, they say, heals all wounds. But time betrayed me. The days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, yet the ache in my heart only grew. Memories of Aman weren’t fading; they were sharpening, replaying in vivid clarity, tormenting me with every detail. I would pray at night, whispering into the silence, begging God for answers. Why, I asked, did He bring Aman into my life if only to take him away? It felt cruel, almost heartless, to have experienced such happiness only to lose it so quickly. Unanswered Questions Why him? Why not someone else? There were others—boys who liked me, boys who tried to win my heart. But my heart was stubborn, refusing to let go of the one person who didn’t even know he owned it. In those quiet moments, I imagined scenarios where Aman would return. Maybe he would realize he missed me, maybe he would see me as more than Ananya’s friend. These fantasies were my solace, but they were also my undoing. A Goodbye That Wasn’t Just a Goodbye Aman’s departure wasn’t just a goodbye—it was the beginning of a journey I hadn’t prepared for. A journey of longing, of unanswered prayers, and of a love that felt as vast as the universe but as unreachable as the stars.
Even now, as I write this, the pain feels fresh, as though no time has passed. Maybe some love stories aren’t meant to be shared or even lived; maybe they exist only in the quiet spaces of our hearts, where they remain safe, untouchable, and eternal.

The Timekeeper's Legacy---Chapter 5

Chapter 5: Love and Choices : As the days passed, Evelyn’s feelings for Callum grew stronger. He was always there, guiding her, helping her understand the watch’s powers. But as much as she trusted him, there was still a part of her that felt unsettled. One evening, as they sat by the river, Evelyn could feel the distance between them narrowing. Callum turned to her, his eyes searching hers. “You don’t have to go through this alone,” he said, his voice tender. “I’ll be here, every step of the way.” Evelyn’s heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, she found herself lost in his gaze. What was this feeling? It was more than friendship, more than trust. It was something deep—something powerful. But then, as though a cloud passed over her thoughts, another face appeared in her mind. Lucas. Lucas had appeared in her dreams—he was always there, like a whisper in the back of her mind. He was part of another world, one where she and he had shared something far beyond time.
